Whats new at Ocean State

Mini-folding, and mini-folding with spot gluing are two of our strong areas with respect to finishing. We can fold up to 12 folds in line and we can get down to 1/2". We also have a knife folder for some of the specialized fold sequences.

Each year, we produce over 40 million miniature folded pieces! The company that makes some of our mini-folders is called vijuk, here is a link to the model folder we have www.vijukequip.com/v14v18.html  We have 3 of the vijuks as well as 2 stahl ti-36 mini-folders.

In 2011 we purchased a Rilecart B-535 High speed wire-o binderB-535 T.S.

How does it work?

The machine is manually fed with pre-punched and gathered products with the covers on the bottom and the punched side downwards. The book is transported to the insertion area where it meets diagonal bar on which the wire-o slides and is cut. The first ring of the wire-o slips into the first hole of the book, and the actual movement of the book itself facilitates the insertion of the whole cut length. The wire-o is then turned 90° in a special patented tunnel and finally closed under a specific pressing unit. This binding system is recognized as the simplest and most natural, due to the way paper is handled, allowing considerable speeds and simplicity even throughout the changing operations and associated fine tunings.

Features:

  • Uses wires on spools with diameters from 1/4” to 1-1/4” for maximum binding thickness of 28 mm. (Check thickness reference table for details).
  • Maximum binding size: 320 x 300 mm.
  • Minimum binding size: 100 x 80 mm.
  • Specific tools for each closing diameter.
  • Max. speed: up to 2500 cycles per hour.
  • Actual speed according to the product’s technical characteristics and work organization.
  • Motorized single spool unwider to reduce space engaged.
  • Programmed binding with one part of wire-o or “skip” up to five wire-o parts.
